Learning to cook is more than just knowing how to follow a recipe. It is an adventure into the basics of chemistry; an exercise in the applications of math and reading comprehension, and the visual art of nature’s palette.   Tweens will enjoy more challenging recipes in our studio kitchen, while continuing to build their self reliance as they prepare for the lifelong journey ahead without Mom or Dad!   We'll talk about how to eat healthy to kick start a love for healthy food.  We will have iron chef style competitions and explore food science. 

Holiday Cupcake Wars

Do you ever watch Cupcake Wars on Food Network? It’s one of our favs at Flour Power! We are having our own special cupcake class this week and will be competing in teams to make the cutest and best cupcakes! Hope you can make it!


Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast

We’ll be sizzling through this class using our big imaginations with only 5 very unique ingredients! We’ll divide into two teams to see what we can conjure up today at class!


Brunch Bunch

January 19th

Brunch is breakfast and lunch combined! People like to have brunch on the weekends when they don’t wake up as early as usual and it’s a fun time to spend with your friends and family! We will be working on some great brunch recipes, Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast with Peaches and Candied Bacon!


Cravings: Comfort Food Fix!

Do you know what a craving is? It’s when you really want something in particular to eat and you can’t stop thinking about it!. Sometimes people will say, “I’m craving some pizza!” Now you know what they mean! This week we will be making some yummy comfort foods that will definitely turn into some of your cravings! Apple Dews and Grown Up Mac and Cheese will surely satisfy!

Chinese New Year Celebration!

Today is the Chinese New Year! Do you enjoy Asian cuisine? We will be using a wok to make Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry with yummy veggies and an amazing sauce. We will also make some delicious Vegetable Stir Fry Rice. No need for take-out; you can make this at home!


Chocolate Mania!

Valentine's Day Party!

Chocolate, Chocolate, CHOCOLATE!!! We LOVE Chocolate!!! If you do too, you won’t want to miss this class! Join us for Chocolate Mania for a Choc(olate) filled time! We'll celebrate Valentine's Day with Frozen Hot Chocolate, Molten Lava Cakes, and Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream, so wear your red and pink as we stir up some love in the kitchen!

Winter Market Basket Challenge

Teamwork + imagination = success! We’ll be creating two recipes from a single basket of ingredients today in class! We’ll work in two teams and see who can create the most dynamic recipes that taste the most delicious with our secret basket of seasonal ingredients!


One Dish Wonders

February 19th

Why have to clean every pot or pan in the kitchen when just one will do? We’ll focus in class tonight on recipes that require one simple pot! Recipes include One Pot Spaghetti and Rustic Chicken with Gravy!


Food Lab

February 26th

Food is all about science, and we’ll turn Flour Power into a science lab… a wonderful edible science lab with Stained Glass Cookies and Ice Cream in a Bag! And as with all science, there may be some surprises!


The Steamy Ktichen

March 2nd

We are going to create some Steamy recipes in our Kitchen today! Come join us in making Vegetable Steamed Dumplings and Chicken Tamales! You won’t want to miss this class!


Mardi Gras Celebration

Laissez les bons temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!) Tonight is Mardi Gras, so we will celebrate with authentic Mardi Gras recipes. King Cakes and Jambalaya are on tonight’s menu! Join us for a special Mardi Gras celebration!

The best part of Spring is all the fresh fruits and vegetables we can use and incorporate in our recipes. Let’s make some Pesto Chicken with Blistered Tomatoes and Broccoli, Cheddar and Brown Rice Cakes and taste the freshness. So much goodness!

It’s Cinco de Mayo! To celebrate, it’s a fiesta of Tamale Temptations with Homemade Salsa and Guacamole. Andale (hurry!) and head over for this fun celebration!


Berry Patch

Red, ripe, and juicy—there’s nothing better than a strawberry—especially this time of year! Tonight, we’ll use fresh, seasonal strawberries to make some “berry” fun recipes! Strawberry Cream Cheese Bread and Strawberry Crepes will make you “berry” happy!


Dumpling Dinner

Tonight, we will be making Homemade Vegetable Dumplings. Learn how to make them, stuff them and cook them plus a little history about dumplings. A fun night for sure!

Vegetable Sushi and Fruit Spring Rolls

Make eating healthy a little more interesting by learning to roll your own Vegetable Sushi and Fresh Fruit Spring Rolls! We’ll learn to make sticky rice and practice our knife skills, then put it all together by perfecting our sushi rolling and spring roll wrapping techniques! Roll on over for this fun class!


Caribbean Flavors

May 21st

Think warm sand, tropical breeze and authentic Caribbean food. You’ll be making Grenadian Spice Cake and Caribbean Chicken with Pineapple-Cilantro Rice. A little taste of the Caribbean right here at Flour Power Charlotte Quail Corners!

Cancellation Policy: If you know you need to change your class date we must know at least two weeks in advance. 
Spaces are limited and our classes often sell out. We would like to be fair to all families so we must know at least two weeks in advance if you cannot attend a class for which you are scheduled. Thank you for understanding this policy.  We do not offer refunds for gift certificates.  If you attend your first class and you do not feel that this program is a good fit for your child, you must let us know within 24 hours following your first class and we will refund the remaining classes.
